THE PROPERTY OUR 6 HECTARES OF VINEYARDS

on the hills of Valpolicella Classica, between the plain and Lake Garda

The sacrifices made by my father Roberto and my mother Maristella, has allowed me to farm this land which has a particularly high viticultural suitability. The property consists of 6 hectares, planted only with typical and naturally occurring Valpolicella grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella.

THE LAND

The soil is of calcareous origin and when it rains, the excess water drains well. It also manages to hold sufficient moisture to supply the vines during the warm and drier seasons.

THE VINEYARDS

All parts of our vineyard had been given names by our grandmother. Today two of them are for us the most representative, with characteristics identifying them as the best plots due to the grapes being exposed to the south west and providing the best growing conditions. With excellent exposure to the sun and with constant ventilation, they are named Camporocco and Campogerico. They are in ideal positions at an altitude of approximately 350 metres above sea level.

THE MAROGNE

As mentioned previously, the dry-stone walls creating the terraces on the slopes of the hills in Valpolicella are called marògne, a word in our dialect describing the structures of stones interlocking each other. The marogne are used to contain the flattened soil to prevent it from leaching.
